Eversley’s Neighbourhood Plan

Eversley is in the process of producing a Neighbourhood Plan, and has formed a Working Group to deliver this community-led planning initiative.

For details of the Neighbourhood Plan Working Group meetings, please click on the Main Menu and select Meetings where you will find all agendas, minutes and upcoming meeting dates.

What is a Neighbourhood Plan?

A Neighbourhood Plan sets out local planning policies for land use and development in our Parish .Once adopted , it becomes part of the wider statutory development plan for our District, This means planning applications will be judged against the policies we create alongside existing national and local ones.

It’s our chance to create a shared vision for Eversley- protecting what we value, guiding appropriate development, and ensuring our needs are met.

Why does it Matter?

Without a Neighbourhood Plan, development decisions are made by the local authority using broader district-wide policies. These may not reflect the unique character or aspirations of our community.

What a Neighbourhood Plan Can Do

  • Protect green spaces, the natural environment and heritage assets
  • Guide where new homes and business should go
  • Influence the design of new homes to reflect our village character
  • Identify areas for community facilities and infrastructure
  • Have a real say on how our Parish evolves

What it Can’t Do

 A Neighbourhood Plan cannot:

  • Stope development already approved at higher levels
  • Reduce the number of homes the local authority has identified as needed
  • Override national policies on affordable housing or climate goals
  • Impose unrealistic or unviable restrictions on developments.
